How does Calcium express itself?

Extracellular Calcium concentration is maintained within regulated ranges through a system in which parathyroid hormone, active vitamin D, bone, the kidneys, and the intestine play particularly important roles. When circulating Calcium decreases, the signal of parathyroid hormone increases, promoting renal Calcium retention and contributing to the activation of mechanisms that increase its availability.
