Scandium - Day 1 - Throne of Aries
We remember at the Round Table that the twelve thrones do not divide matter: they surround it in order to know it from the perspective of wholeness. At the center remains Excalibur, the axis of calibration, and beneath its invisible edge the Philosopher’s Stone is formed as the conscious ordering of the matter being contemplated. Throughout thirteen days, each throne observes the same particle, measures it according to its function, and delivers its perspective to the center. At the conclusion of the cycle, Thoth-Merlin gathers the twelve perspectives and seals a new layer of the Stone.
During this cycle, its form is expressed as Scandium: an element with the symbol Sc and atomic number 21. Its ground-state electron configuration is [Ar]3d¹4s². After Calcium has completed the pair of 4s electrons, Scandium introduces an electron into the 3d orbital and opens a new region of the periodic table. This is the substance we are bringing into order. Particle number 21 of the Philosopher’s Stone enters the Round Table today to be observed from the throne of Aries.
Scandium: Throne of Aries
Today we share the perspective of Aries. From this throne, we observe Scandium’s first movement, that which begins when the previous sequence has already completed its structure. Aries contemplates the moment when matter opens an electronic territory that until now remained empty.
How does Scandium express itself?
Neutral Scandium has twenty-one electrons and a first ionization energy of approximately 6.56 electronvolts. Its [Ar]3d¹4s² configuration represents the entry of the first electron of this sequence into a 3d orbital. When ionized, its outer electrons can be removed until the Sc³⁺ cation is formed, a configuration that participates extensively in the chemistry of its compounds.
The beginning of this element therefore introduces something that was not present in Potassium or Calcium. It does not simply continue filling the outer orbital: a new electronic region becomes available, and with it begins a sequence of elements whose properties will increasingly be linked to d orbitals.
What does it reveal to us?
When observed from the throne of Aries, Scandium reveals that there are beginnings that do not consist merely of continuing what came before. Some beginnings open a space that had not yet been occupied.
Excalibur calibrates particle number 21 to recognize when the impulse must stop repeating a known structure. Scandium teaches that truly beginning sometimes means entering a territory for which there is not yet any previous experience.
How do we integrate it?
At the center of the Round Table, the candle remains lit. It does not represent Scandium or the throne observing it: it keeps visible the unmoving point from which all perspectives can come together without becoming confused. Observe the flame until you recognize in it the moment when a completed structure opens toward a new territory.

Hold a single affirmation within yourself: «I recognize the space for what is new».
Emotion — Cleansing with the candle
Light a candle and observe it in silence. Take three slow breaths. With each exhalation, release the fear of entering unknown territory, the need to repeat a familiar formula, and the anxiety of knowing in advance that which can only be understood by beginning.The emotion is brought into order through trust.
Action — Integration into the body
Pour yourself a glass of water and hold it between both hands. Say three times: «I open a new space so that the path reveals itself». Drink slowly, allowing the action to become integrated into the body.
